Melbourne – Sound Designer

Big Ant Studios are looking for a highly talented and motivated Mid-Level / Senior Sound Designer to play a key role in the studio.

Join us in making some of consoles and PCs’ biggest sports titles from our centrally located Melbourne studio.

We are searching for an experienced sound designer to help create the audio for our sports games. You will work across the full sound design process, from creating and editing audio through to Wwise implementation, mixing and final polish. Working closely with programmers, designers, artists, producers and other audio specialists, you will create immersive and responsive audio across gameplay, crowds, environments, presentation, UI and cinematics. You will have the opportunity to own significant areas of a game’s audio and shape its creative direction.

Your role will include:

• Designing, editing and implementing sound effects for gameplay and presentation
• Building reactive audio with Wwise events, states, switches, RTPCs and blend containers
• Working with programmers and designers to implement audio that responds dynamically to gameplay
• Contributing to game audio mixing, balancing and final polish
• Debugging and resolving audio implementation issues
• Owning audio features from initial design and creation through to implementation and final polish

We are looking for someone with experience in:

• Wwise – Required
• REAPER – Required
• iZotope RX for audio editing, cleaning and restoration
• Interactive game audio, including audio editing, processing and mixing

Extra considerations for working knowledge of:

• Sports games or other games with highly systemic gameplay
• Crowd, stadium or environmental audio
• Dynamic or interactive music systems
• Dialogue, VO or commentary implementation
• Foley editing and sound design
• Surround or immersive audio production
• Working with large amounts of interactive audio content

You don’t need to tick every box. If you have strong Wwise skills and a passion for great game audio, we’d love to hear from you.
